Glossary

Archival: Moving files or data from one location to another for extended storage. Data archives are typically used as a repository for old data. This represents moving data from one location to another, where it is deleted from the original location and resides primarily or exclusively in the data archive.

Data Backup: Storage of alternate copies of files or data for retrieval upon data loss. This represents a direct copy of a file where the original file is maintained in one location and the copy is maintained in a separate location.

Multiple Versioning: Each time a document is edited it represents a new version. The data backup client scans the user's files on a regular basis and looks for files which are new or have changed. If the file has changed it represents a new version. Multiple versions of designated files are stored for recovery. By default, older versions of documents are stored for 30 days, but this setting can be configured by the user for a shorter or longer period.
